In an audit by the UK’s medicines regulatory authorities in
2001, it was found that temperature control and the monitoring of
warehouse storage and the cold chain were the highest areas of
critical and major deficiencies reported.
You can be sure that when you give your shipment to a Pharmafreight
office the strict quality standards you enforce whilst the goods are
in your care will be continued once it leaves your hands. The ethos
behind Pharmafreight is to operate its services taking into account
the many regulations which cover the pharmaceutical industry.
Pharmafreight’s standard operating procedures are based on the
international regulations covering good
pharmaceutical practice. And in particular, GDP, or Good Distribution
Practice, prepared in accordance with the EU’s Directive 92/25/EEC,
concerning the wholesale distribution of medicinal products for human
use.
All Pharmafreight staff and offices work to the SOPs laid out in
the GDP regulations and more specifically our own GTP guidelines.
Staff undergo training to enable them to work in
accordance with GTP and to demonstrate a full understanding of
procedures undertaken. Temperatures are monitored and recorded
(where required); goods are checked and stored under the
correct conditions; and shipments are controlled to make sure the
goods arrive in the same condition as they left. Pharmafreight
provides services tailor-made to each client’s special requirements
including, of course, total confidentiality.
Within the
international forwarding and logistics industry there are increasing trends
towards “mega carriers” where clients are not allocated dedicated personnel to
deal with their individual needs on a day to day basis. With the Pharmafreight
group of companies, our clients are paramount and as such, are treated
individually with dedicated staff appointed to handle not only day to day
operations but also get to know the client’s individual requirements.
